What is with British hats???
Hello Again.
Just a little while ago I was watching the Royal Wedding (which actually wasn't a wedding at all . . . so let's call it the royal ceremony then) . . . watching the Royal Ceremony with my mother. That kind of stuff floats her boat. And almost the first thing I noticed was the HORRIBLE hats that ppl kept wearing. They were UGLY . . . FUGLY, even. If they weren't wearing a tree branch on their head, it was a tea cozy, or something that belonged in the 1940's version of Cabaret. Seriously, what is up with that? I have never been much of a hat girl myself, but why do ppl thingk these hats are stylish? They make me want to cringe. Please, someone tell me what is up with this

I know I love to wear a tree branch on my head from time to time. Or a cupboard door when my hair gets caught round the handle.
Em would like you to switch to Haloscan (http://www.haloscan.com/) or the like, so she can comment, too.

Hey, Em, I thought you has something to say about British hats! Let's hear it!
So, even though this post is totally old...I thought I'd add something. I talked to this lovely British lady that I work with, and she was being kind of goofy, putting a tacky brown-with-gold-leaves lamp shade on her head and asking if she should wear it to her son and/or daughter's wedding. And suddenly I was reminded of the wedding I saw a few months ago on TV, you know, Prince Charles and Camilla. So I decided to ask a true Brit what she thought of the hats. She said they look ridiculous, like tree branches, and she talked about how they all look the same, and she didn't understand it. We had a good laugh. Which I found amusing. Likely no one else cares or will read this update, but hey. It was worth it for me.
